VietNamNet Bridge – The number-one badminton player of Vietnam, Nguyen Tien Minh, has jumped from 12th to 7th on the latest World Badminton Federation (WBF) ratings with 57,779 points.


Minh is followed by Du Pengyu of China, Sho Sasaki of Japan and Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand on the WBF’s rankings.

Earlier, he jumped up for four grades, from 16th the 12th after entering the quarter-final of the Open Indonesia tournament in June.

Minh will compete in two Super Series tournaments this month – the Denmark Open from October 18 to 23, and the French Open from October 25 to 30.

At the Denmark Open, which offers awards totaling $350,000, Minh will be the seventh seed. This tourney will attract all players who are placed before Minh on the world rankings.
