Cau Ngu, also known as the whale worshipping festival, is the most significant annual event held among local fishermen and got underway from February 27 to February 29 in the central coastal city of Da Nang.
Vietnam’s traditional festivals as well as those which are shaping up their brand, are adding lustre to local tourism while spurring the country to join hands with other ASEAN member states to develop sustainable festival tourism.
The seal opening ceremony took place on February 23, the 14th night of the first lunar month, at the Tran temple in the northern province of Nam Dinh, with the event attracting thousands of pilgrims.
