On September 17, 2024, Vietravel Airlines officially announced the appointment of Dao Duc Vu as its new CEO, effective from September 4, 2024, following the resignation of Nguyen Minh Hai, who stepped down due to personal reasons after serving less than a year in the position.
Vu brings a wealth of aviation expertise, having spent over 35 years in leadership roles at Vietnam Airlines, Cambodia Angkor Air, Vietjet, and Bamboo Airways.
Between 2020 and 2022, he served as Deputy General Director at Vietravel Airlines, where he was responsible for overseeing flight operations and crew training.
Chairman Nguyen Quoc Ky expressed optimism about Vu's leadership during this critical phase of expansion, emphasizing that the airline is focused on increasing its flight routes and achieving strategic growth targets.
In the first half of 2024, Vietravel Airlines reported a 17.9% increase in commercial flights and a 39.2% surge in passenger numbers compared to the previous year.
While the airline has not yet disclosed its complete financial results for the first half of 2024, its Q1 report showed revenue of VND 491.2 billion, reflecting a 42% year-on-year increase, and a net profit of VNĐ 10.1 billion.
