Local tour operator Vietravel will conduct charter flights for tourists from HCMC to visit Myanmar in October and November this year. This is the first time the travel firm has launched this service on the HCMC-Myanmar route.

The HCMC-based travel firm has inked a deal with local budget carrier Vietjet Air to offer the service. Visitors registering for the HCMC-Yangon (Myanmar) tour will follow a four-day itinerary as follows: Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo - Golden Rock - Bago - Thanlyin. The fare for this tour will be VND11 million per person, which is VND2-3 million cheaper than usual.
Le Hong Viet Thao, deputy head of Marketing and Media at Vietravel, noted that Myanmar is among the top tourist attractions in the Southeast Asian region. The travel company, which operates weekly HCMC-Myanmar tours, decided to book charter flights to serve the rising travel demand.
Aside from promoting upcoming tours to Myanmar on charter flights, Vietravel on August 8 started selling tourism packages for the 2018 fall season, with an array of promotional programs for customers. In particular, between August 8 and October 8, customers booking tours to Europe, Australia, the United States, Canada or New Zealand and who make advance payments will receive incentives of up to VND8.5 million. A group of at least five people will enjoy a fare reduction of VND800,000 per person, while customers whose passports hold three or more entry stamps will have their tour prices reduced by VND500,000 per person.
Vietravel expects to attract some 110,000 customers for inbound and outbound tours during the 2018 fall season, marking a 15% rise versus last year’s figure. As of summer this year, the firm saw a 25% year-on-year increase in the number of customers to 290,000 people.
