Viettel is one of the Vietnamese enterprises with the most patents protected exclusively in the US in all three fields of military, civil and telecommunications.

In 2022 and the first quarter of 2023, Viettel had 14 more exclusive patents in the US, 1.5 times higher than the total number of patents granted in the previous three years.

According to the Vietnam National Office of Intellectual Property, Viettel is one of the leading enterprises in the field of patent registration in Vietnam with 505 patent applications and 94 granted patents. The average growth rate of Viettel's patent applications is 1.5 times higher than that of the whole of Vietnam in the 2017-22 period.

Viettel targeted to promote innovation and scientific research activities so that Make in Vietnam and Made by Viettel products would be developed to the world’s level. Its technical solutions which were granted are all practical and highly applicable in the field of registration.

The inventions from female authors in Viettel account for 20.5% of its total. Women staff at the group are participating in most of the group's scientific research activities.
