On August 5, Viettel hosted its 11th Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, where it displayed several strategic military technologies, including the “Truong Son” missile system and the S125-VT air defense missile system.

During the 2020–2025 period, Viettel aimed to lead in digital transformation and high-tech defense industries. The company maintained strong, consistent growth, aiming for double-digit expansion toward the end of the term.

Cumulatively from 2021 to 2025, Viettel reported consolidated revenue of VND 888.2 trillion (approx. USD 36.7 billion), an increase of nearly 25% compared to 2016–2020. It has remained one of the nation’s top corporations in terms of revenue, corporate income tax contributions, and brand value - ranked as Vietnam’s most valuable brand by respected international organizations.

A representative from Viettel shared that its defense and security division had achieved remarkable breakthroughs. Under Project A1, Viettel successfully developed and produced over 50 types of high-tech weapons and equipment, which have been deployed to various military units to support training and combat readiness.

The equipment showcased at the Party Congress included the “Truong Son” missile system, S125-VT air defense system, fire-control radar, UAV jamming and reconnaissance system, vertical take-off and landing medium-range reconnaissance UAVs, and tactical combat UAVs.

Viettel also announced its intention to begin production and testing of 6G devices on real-world networks between 2028 and 2030.

Under the theme: “Building a clean, strong Party Committee and a fully capable corporation; pioneering in mastering national strategic technologies and industries, promoting international cooperation; and taking the lead in developing and manufacturing modern, advanced military equipment,” the Congress focused on setting ambitious goals for the 2025–2030 period.

Viettel plans to sustain double-digit average growth while aligning with the national strategy for socio-economic development. It also aims to expand globally, transitioning Vietnam from a high-tech importer to an exporter. The company expects international revenue in telecommunications and digital services to grow 35%-40%, and revenue from high-tech industrial and digital technology products to increase by 25%-30%.

Viettel is actively researching and developing 9 out of 11 national strategic technologies, including AI, digital twins, virtual and augmented reality, cloud computing and quantum computing, big data, blockchain, 5G/6G, robotics and automation, semiconductors, advanced energy and materials, cybersecurity, and aerospace.

From 2025 to 2030, Viettel will serve as the core driver of the high-tech defense industry cluster. The company will proactively propose new military equipment to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense.

At the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Minister of National Defense, emphasized: “To meet the goals and missions for the next term, the Group must continuously innovate and improve business and production efficiency, while also fulfilling its military and defense responsibilities. Viettel must pioneer and lead in mastering national strategic technologies and industries, serve as the main force in researching, producing, and supplying advanced, modern equipment for the military. The Group must also invest in infrastructure, develop new, cutting-edge products and services that align with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, uphold corporate culture, protect brand reputation, build customer trust, and actively pursue partnerships and market expansion.”
