Vinacomin’s Le Thi Thuong scored the solitary goal of the match in the 60th minute to help her team avenge their 0-1 loss to Ho Chi Minh City in the first leg of the tournament and take this year’s title with a total of 20 points following six wins, two draws and two losses.
This is the second time Vinacomin have claimed the national championship tile; the first time was in 2007.
This year's championships, which kicked off on April 10, brought together six strong women's teams from across the country, including Hanoi I, Hanoi II, Phong Phu Ha Nam, Vinacomin, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel, and Ho Chi Minh City.
The teams competed in a double round robin tournament, both at home and away, to decide the ultimate winners, who received a cash prize of VND200 million (US$9,600). The runners-up and third placed team pocketed VND150 million (US$7,200) and VND100 million (US$4,800), respectively.
