VietNamNet Bridge - Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Shipping Lines Corporation (Vinalines), Mr. Vu Khac Tu, has been suspended from work for 15 days to to explain his role in the corruption case of three officials of the Quang Ninh Port.

It is reported that the embezzlement case occurred during the time Tu served as the General Director of the Quang Ninh Port.
Earlier, the police of Quang Ninh Province prosecuted and arrested Mr. Dinh Ngoc Uyen, former deputy director of Quang Ninh Port, on charges of embezzlement.
According to the police, from late 2011 through 2012, Uyen and his two subordinates, Ms. Dong Thi Be (former chief accountant) and Ms. Bui Thi Tham (treasurer), made false documents to appropriate over VND8 billion ($400,000). This amount was allocated to Tham’s management and it was spent under the guidance of Uyen and Be.
So far the three defendants have handed over VND9.3 billion to the investigating agency.
