The fourth season of the VinFuture Prize aims to honour breakthrough scientific research and technological innovations that create meaningful change in the everyday lives of millions of people, as well as recognising exceptional inventors and researchers from global academic universities, research labs, and industry.
According to Prof. Sir Richard Henry Friend, chair of the VinFuture Prize Council, to participate in the 2024 VinFuture Prize, scientific and technological innovations and solutions must fully meet the Prize's nomination criteria and be nominated by prestigious organisations or individuals in the field of science and technology worldwide.
Nominated projects will be screened and chosen by the VinFuture Prize's Pre-Screening Committee and Prize Council that comprise leading scientists and experts who have won prestigious awards, such as Nobel, Turing, and Millennium Technology prizes.
The VinFuture Prize comprises a Grand Prize of US$3 million and is awarded annually to breakthrough research and technological innovations that positively improve the overall quality of human life to create a more equitable and sustainable world for future generations to live in.
The Grand Prize are open to all, regardless of the candidate’s nationality, age, gender, social status, or economic background.
Furthermore, three Special Prizes of US$500,000 each with a focus on promoting diversity and equity will also be on offer.
New fields of study will also be awarded annually to Innovators from Developing Countries, Female Innovators, and Innovators with Outstanding Achievements in Emerging Fields.
To provide information for nominees, a webinar titled “Call for Nominations" is scheduled to be held at 20:00 p.m. on January 24.
The VinFuture Foundation entrusted the Prize, one of the world’s largest annual awards in science and technology, contributing to the overall betterment of life for millions of people globally. This can be done by facilitating breakthrough scientific research, technological innovations, inventions that help change people’s lives, as well as exceptional scientific solutions in diverse fields across various geographical areas and from scientists regardless of age, gender, or nationality.
