Techfest Vinh Phuc 2024, an important event for innovation startups, will take place on December 20-21.

The event will be held in both in-person and online formats, with the attendance of the leaders of the government, ministries and branches, experts, investors and Vietnamese and foreign startup supporting organizations.

As a bridge, Techfest Vinh Phuc 2024 focuses on building a network that connects startups, businesses, investors, and policymakers. In addition to the main activities, there will also be startup consulting sessions, investment cooperation connections, and startup idea sharing.

Luong Van Long, director of the Vinh Phuc Department of Science and Technology, said at the press conference that Techfest Vinh Phuc 2024 conveys the province’s strong commitments to the community of enterprises, businesspeople and startups.

“Be bold in your thinking, take advantage of technological advances to develop products and services that meet today’s new needs. With the motto of putting businesses at the center, the province is committed to providing maximum support so that start-up ideas can be realized and developed sustainably,” Long said.

According to the official, Vinh Phuc prioritizes investors to develop a hi-tech industry zone for electronics and semiconductor industry. The local authorities have proposed that it participate in the national program on training 50,000 semiconductor engineers.

“Vinh Phuc will deploy digital transformation programs, attract investments in advanced industries and promote international cooperation to attract foreign invested enterprises,” he said.

Techfest Vinh Phuc 2024 not only has an important significance in promoting the development of the province’s startup ecosystem, but also acts as the bridge connecting the locality and international investors and institutions. The event is believed to create a strong driving force for Vinh Phuc to continue to lead in innovations.

Vinh Phuc has great advantages to develop into an advanced industry center. It is located near the international airport of Noi Bai and is also an ‘innovation cradle’ which incubates many excellent students.

Vinh Phuc’s students have been leading the country in students’ high school final exam results, which is a foundation for the province to develop technologies and the semiconductor industry.

To develop the semiconductor industry, the province has built hi-tech zones.

“Our vision is becoming a Silicon Valley of Vietnam in terms of hi-tech investment and development,” Long said, adding that the province is proactively attracting investors from South Korea, the US, Taiwan (China), the countries with a strong semiconductor industry.

Phung Viet Thang from Intel Vietnam said if Vietnam can produce high-quality workforce, it will have the chance to lead, or become one of the leaders of the global semiconductor industry.
