Ten-year-old Cao Hoang Linh has won first prize at the International Music Competition in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The contest, held from November 12-18, drew a number of contestants from various countries, including Canada, the UK, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Estonia.
The jury consisted of prestigious artists from the US, Italy, Argentina, Poland, Israel, and Japan.
Currently, Linh is a four-year student at Vietnam National Academy of Music, and is under the tutelage of lecturer Do Xuan Thang.
During his studies at the academy, Linh has made outstanding achievements and received scholarships to join the International Music Session camp in the US for two successive years.
He also got a “Vietnam’s Classical Music” scholarship and embarked on a trans-Vietnam performance tour in August, 2017.
After wining the prize, Linh was invited by the Argentinean jury member, artist Eduardo Delgado, to partake in a music camp in Italy next summer.
