VietNamNet Bridge - The Vietnam Logistics Association (VLA) says that logistics costs in Vietnam are 16-17 percent of GDP, not 20.9 percent as reported before by several institutions.

Logistics fees in Vietnam account for 20.9 percent of the country’s GDP, of which transport costs account for 60 percent, twice as much as developed economies such as Japan (11 percent) and EU countries (10 percent), according to the World Bank.

High tolls in Vietnam are contributing to one of the highest logistics costs in the world. 

In February 2017, the PM signed Decision 200 approving an action plan to develop Vietnam’s logistics by 2025, a large-scale plan with 60 tasks assigned to relevant ministries, agencies, associations and businesses.
