Hoang wants to quit his position although his deal with V.League’s Hai Phong FC is valid until the end of 2018.

Hoang officially sent his resignation to the club’s managing board citing personal reasons and nominated his assistant Nguyen Duc Canh to take charge of the team.

Hai Phong FC President Tran Manh Hung has not yet made his decision.

Hoang and his players are, meanwhile, practicing for their weekend match against Hoang Anh Gia Lai on home turf at Lach Tray Stadium.

Hai Phong are currently No. 6 in the ranking.

Hoang came to Hai Phong in 2014. Under his reign, the team won the National Cup trophy in 2014 and finished second at the V.League last year.

In another move, Le Huynh Duc, coach of SHB Da Nang, said he wants to leave SHB Da Nang by the end of this season.

Former champions Da Nang have prepared well and are in the race for the V.League title, but recent injuries to key players have somewhat dashed their hopes.

Da Nang stay at No. 9 after 24 rounds, just two matches before the season comes to the end.

This year Duc and his players claimed a bronze medal at the National Cup.

During his 10 years with the team, Duc bagged two V.League titles in 2009 and 2012, one National Cup gold in 2009 and one Super Cup trophy in 2012.

He also led Da Nang to the quarterfinals of the AFC Cup in 2010.

Da Nang will host Sai Gon at Hoa Xuan Stadium this Sunday.
