VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Le Minh Phu won a silver medal at the 13th Asian Schools Chess Championship, which concluded in Panjin City, Liaoning Province, China, yesterday.

Phu, who was the only athlete from Viet Nam, came second in the boys’ U9 rapid chess event with six points from seven matches.

He came fifth and ninth in the blitz and standard pools, respectively.

The tournament organised six age group categories for athletes, ranging from U7 to U17.

The masters compete in standard, rapid and blitz events.
