The statement was made by Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat Le Hong Anh at a reception for the Secretary of the Korean Workers' Party Central Committee Kim Yong Il.

Anh said the development of bilateral relations, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, would contribute to the two people's interests and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.

He expressed his belief that co-operation between the two commissions of foreign affairs would help promote bilateral relations.
For his part, Kim Yong Il affirmed his State and Party's consistent policy to further strengthen its relations with Viet Nam.

On Monday, Hoang Binh Quan, head of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee's Commission for External Relations held talks with Kim Yong Il.
