Responding to reporters' questions, Binh expressed Viet Nam's deep concern that the DPRK defied the international community's opposition and conducted a rocket launch using ballistic missile technology on February 7.

The DPRK's action violated relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and escalated tensions in the region, he said.

"Viet Nam's consistent viewpoint is supporting all efforts aimed at maintaining peace, stability and development in the Korean Peninsula as well as in the region and the world.

"Viet Nam supports the settlement of all disputes via dialogues and affirms that the United Nations Security Council's relevant resolutions need to be seriously implemented," the spokesman said.
