The films will be joining 25 other entries from other Southeast Asian countries taking part in the festival in Luang Prabang City from December 6 to 10, according to event organisers.
Madam Phung's Last Journey, a documentary of independent filmmaker Nguyen Thi Tham, narrates the experiences of a travelling troupe in the south made up mostly of gay artists.
The Talent, a movie of first-time director Quang Huy which tells stories of friendship and rivalry in the music business, has romped off with six honours at the Viet Nam Golden Kite Awards in March, including Best Feature Film.
The festival is expected to celebrate the making of the best films from across Southeast Asia and create a space for regional film professionals and fans to network, dialogue and encourage local film production.
Multiple short film programmes, as well as panel discussions, question and answer fora, a concert and dance and puppetry performances, will also be organised to entertain visitors.
