VietNamNet Bridge – As many as 2,500 athletes, coaches and other members from 45 nations are expected to participate in the fifth Asian Beach Games in the southern coastal province of Khanh Hoa in June, 2016.
The Viet Nam Administration of Sports and Physical Training has reported that there will be 15 events. Host competitors will compete in all games and have set a target of ranking sixth to eighth in the event. Viet Nam hope to gain gold medals in wrestling, pencaksilat and bodybuilding.
The competitions will also take place in the southern province of Binh Thuan and central city of Da Nang.
The Asian Beach Games is a multi-sport event to be held every two years.
* Sai Gon club fined VND50 million
The Viet Nam Football Federation's Disciplinary Department doled out fines to Sai Gon FC and Thanh Hoa for their scuffle in the quarter-finals of the National Football Cup 2012 last weekend.
Sai Gon FC were fined VND50 million (nearly US$2,400) and will play their next match against Vicem Hai Phong without fans in their home stadium. Thanh Hoa were fined VND2 million ($95) while their midfielder Le Bat Hieu was given an individual fine of VND10 million ($477) and suspended for the two next matches because of his bad words and attitudes.
