The Agreement on establishment of Viet Nam-Peru inter-governmental committee for economic and technical cooperation will become a foundation for setting up legal frameworks for the bilateral cooperative relations.

The Agreement was inked on August 27 between Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh and Peru’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eduardo Martinetti on the occasion of the former’s working visit to Peru.

The Agreement is expected to promote the bilateral relations in all fields, especially economy, trade, agriculture and technical cooperation.

In 2014, the two-way trade turnover posted a remarkable growth rate of 85%, equivalent to US$285 million. Viet Nam’s exports to and imports from Peru saw expanded 69.2% and 123.8%, reaching US$186.9 million and US$98 million, respectively.
