Vietnamese shooters Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy secured the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the 2025 Asian Shooting Cup after a dramatic comeback against their Indonesian rivals.

On the morning of February 12, the final match of the 10m air pistol mixed team category took place. Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy, who topped the qualification round, faced off against Indonesia’s Darmoyo and Prabowa, the second-ranked team in the preliminaries.
Vietnam got off to a rough start, trailing 0-10 after five rounds. However, the turning point came when coach Tran Quoc Cuong called for a strategic timeout, helping the duo regain their composure.
With an impressive comeback, they tied the score at 10-10, highlighted by a remarkable ninth round, where they achieved a total score of 21.3 points (Thu Vinh 10.6, Quang Huy 10.7).
As defending champions, Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy demonstrated their composure and precision at the crucial moment, closing the match with a 17-13 victory to claim the gold medal.
This is the second consecutive Asian title for the Vietnamese duo. They previously won gold at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship, solidifying their reputation as Vietnam’s top sharpshooters.
The 2025 Asian Shooting Cup features over 280 marksmen from 22 countries and territories, competing in individual and team events for rifle and air pistol categories. Vietnam’s 18-member squad is participating in the tournament.
