The Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost) released a commemorative Vietnam-Portugal joint stamp issue on July 1 at a ceremony at the city of Hoi An in the province of Quang Nam.
The stamp issue commemorates five centuries since the establishment of trade between the two nations, said speakers at the event.
Vietnam and Portugal have enjoyed excellent bilateral relationships with each other with frequent and active interaction through a variety of platforms that allow both countries to exchange views on many issues of common concern.
The cooperation between the two nations governments, they said, covers multiple areas in the economic, commercial and culture arenas.
These collaborations have been fruitful and beneficial for both countries and the ties of both countries have continued to grow in strength over the years.
Depicted in this joint stamp issue are the Chu Dau ceramic vase and coastlines of Hoi An and the city of Lisbon in Portugal. The stamps were designed by To Minh Trang of VNPost in collaboration with Portuguese colleagues.
