On December 20, during its 2025 planning conference, VNPT Group announced the official launch of VinaPhone 5G, offering ultra-fast speeds and advanced connectivity across Vietnam.

The service operates on the 3,700–3,800 MHz frequency band, utilizing the latest global 5G standards, including 64T64R Massive MIMO & Beamforming technology and advanced 5nm chipsets. Combining 5G NSA and 5G SA architectures, VinaPhone 5G aims to align with 5G Advanced standards.

VinaPhone 5G is now available in all 63 provinces and cities, with coverage prioritized in economic hubs such as administrative centers, industrial zones, ports, airports, schools, hospitals, and tourist destinations.

The service enables users to enjoy high-speed, low-latency applications such as cloud gaming, e-commerce livestreams, augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR/XR), and 4K/8K video streaming. Traditional telecommunications services like voice calls also see a 20% quality improvement compared to 4G.

Households and businesses can utilize 5G routers for high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity without requiring new 5G-specific plans. Existing VinaPhone users with 4G SIMs and 5G-compatible devices can access the service immediately in 5G coverage areas.

VNPT plans to expand 5G coverage further in 2025, with the goal of reaching 85% of Vietnam's population in the near future.
