Volleyballer Nguyen Huu Ha retires and now works as a trainer for the Ha Noi Duc Giang Chemicals female volleyball club.

Ha, who used to be a key player of the national team for years, signed a three-year contract to coach the club.

Before arriving at his new home, Ha played and also trained players at the Border Guard club.

During his volleyball career spanning 15 years, Ha won two Southeast Asian Games and several other local titles including the national championship.

In another significant move in national basketball, hitter Nguyen Hoang Thuong left Maseco HCM City, ending their seven-year relationship.

The 1.98m player’s contract ended on January 9. Thuong and his club were unable to find common ground while signing a new deal, so they decided to separate.

Under Maseco jersey Thuong won the Hung Vuong Cup trophy and the national championship title in 2015. He also bagged a silver medal with the national team at the Southeast Asian Games.

It is rumoured that Thuong will land at Sanest Khanh Hoa, which displayed a poor performance at last year’s championship. Both sides have not confirmed the news.
