A concert featuring masterpieces of classical music by composer Ludwig van Beethoven will be held at Hanoi Opera House on March 23.
German pianist Hinrich Alpers and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) will play the Piano Concerto No. 5, also called “Emperor” and the Symphony No. 6 which is inspired by Beethoven’s love for nature. The concert is conducted by Kahchun Wong.
The concert at Hanoi Opera House is one of the destinations of Alper’s Vietnam tour.
He will give performances in major cities, Hanoi, HCM City, Hue and Da Nang, and directs master classes for piano students at the Conservatorium in HCMC and the Music Academy in Hanoi.
Hinrich Alpers was awarded with the 1st prize at the 3rd International Telekom Beethoven competition in Bonn and he regularly performs at international concert halls, philharmonic orchestras and festivals.
In 2010, he founded an international summer academy in his home town in Northern Germany where international musicians annually gather together for master classes and concerts.
The conductor Kahchun Wong is only 30 years old but he is already considered as one of the most talented conductors in Asia.
Wong was raised in Singapore and studied partly in Germany. He will be the director of the Nuremberg symphony orchestra starting from season 2018/19.
