VPF’s officials met on September 5 to review the 2012 football season and prepare for the new season.

According to VPF, though the company was newly established and it organized Vietnam’s professional football tournaments for the first year, its financial situation is satisfactory.

The company has collected VND106 billion (around $5 million) and it spent only VND41 billion ($2 million). Meanwhile, six football clubs still owe membership fees.

VPF would ask these shareholders to quickly fulfill their financial responsibility in September. After that the firm will share broadcasting copyright income to clubs.

The company will appoint a new deputy chair in charge of finance-internal affairs to replace Nguyen Duc Kien, who was arrested recently, at its next meeting. Its General Director Pham Ngoc Vien temporarily covers Kien’s tasks at present.

VPF also approved its former Deputy General Director Luu Quang Lam’s retirement application.

VPF will set up its discipline committee for the 2013 football season to timely deal with scandals.

VPF’s Chair Vo Quoc Thang said that from 2013, one boss can own only one football team in one tournament. Football investors will be also banned from sponsoring different clubs in the same tournament in any form.
