Vu of Son Map Trang Racing team grabbed a very close victory over Nguyen Ngoc Ho (ATE Racing) and Nguyen Quang Khai (Phong of HCM City’s District 4).

“It is a great event for us and I expect more people will support us and consider motor racing a sport in Viet Nam,” Vu said on accepting the gold medal.

“I also hope the organisers will expand the scale of the tournament to lure more participants and fans in the future.”

More than 10,000 people came to the stadium, which also saw Pham Thi Huyen Trang of Hung Nos Racing winning in the women’s 110cc category. She was followed by Tran Tu Ngan (LAV Thot Not, Can Tho Province) and Truong Ngoc Yen (Lam Binh Son, Dong Nai Province).

In the men’s 125cc category, Nguyen Minh Nhut (Ty Mien Tay, Bac Lieu Province), Doan Truong Loi (Sinh Viet, Da Nang City) and Tran Ho Trong Duc (Bep Cao Lanh, Dong Thap Province) were the top three winners.
