Districts across Ho Chi Minh City are eager to replicate the success of existing “walking streets” and street food markets, while many fret over foreseeable traffic jam that comes with closing off roads.
VietNamNet Bridge – Trinh Cong Son walking street, some 900m long, is a fitting tribute to its namesake, late musician Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001), a celebrated Vietnamese musician, songwriter, painter and poet.
VietNamNet Bridge – Hoi An, a UNESCO heritage site, has designated Nguyen Phuc Chu Street a walking street where only pedestrians and non-engined vehicles are allowed.
To celebrate 110 years of tourism in Sa Pa, the district town's People's Committee has decided to turn Cau May Street into a walking street for tourists.
