VietNamNet Bridge – On Saturday, the Friends of Vietnam Heritage will hold a walking tour to discover Nguyen Cong Tru Street in Hai Ba Trung District and the surrounding area.

Starting at 9.30am and lasting about three hours, the tour will start at 5D Ham Long Street, where the first cell of Ha Noi Communist Party was established. The tour then heads along Lo Duc Street to the Pasteur Square, and outside the National Institute of Hygiene & Epidemiology, before back to Lo Duc and into Nguyen Cong Tru Street.
Next is Hai Ba Trung Lake and the temple complex where the guide will touch on the Trung sister’s era (in AD 43). For the final part of the walk, the group will explore the lanes and alleys of the Cho Gioi – Ha Noi’s huge open air market.
This eclectic walk touches on a number of influences that shaped Ha Noi, from the Communist Party to medical Ha Noi, from the Indochinese architectural style to the alcohol industry, from the Trung sisters and worship to the a bustling market.
