Attendees will visit Quan Thanh Temple - a very important, old and almost purely Taoist temple - and its 3.7-tonne 350-year-old bronze statue of Tran Vu, Ha Noi’s Protector of the North.
The group will then walk along Tran Vu Street, around Truc Bach Lake, learn some history of the lake and surrounding area, and walk to Chau Long Pagoda. The walk will continue to Ngu Xa island at the east end of the lake, where walkers will visit Than Quang Pagoda and Ngu Xa Communal House to learn about the history of bronze casting, for which this area is famous.
The tour will also visit a bronze casting showroom.
Those who would like to eat lunch together after the tour, will walk back a short way to Ngu Xa for some traditional pho cuon. Lunch is not included in the tour.
Cost: VND70,000. Limit: 12 people. To sign up for the tour, contact Stella at stellaciorra@hotmail.com.
