The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning about Vietnamese nationals’ security and safety in the Republic of Mali following a coup d’Etat in this African nation on March 21.

The ministry requested that the International Organization for Migration (IOM) offices in Hanoi and Mali should deploy measures to assist Vietnamese nationals living and working in Mali.

It also proposed that agencies, organisations and individuals urge their officials, staff and relatives who are currently in Mali to contact the IOM Office in this nation for necessary assistance. Those affected will be assisted to move to safe areas or return to Vietnam in case of emergency.
