World Bank (WB) Group President Jim Yong Kim will pay an official visit to Vietnam from July 16-17 to strengthen the strong partnership with the country.

During his visit, Dr. Kim is expected to meet with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung to discuss Vietnam’s remarkable success in reducing poverty and the country’s development goals.
As part of the trip, Dr. Kim will visit the Nhieu Loc–Thi Nghe Canal, which has been transformed with WB-supported Ho Chi Minh City Environmental and Sanitation Project. He will discuss with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City the challenges and opportunities of urbanization in Vietnam.
