VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam will be represented by 13 athletes at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Cup from February 22 to 27 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.

They will compete in nine pools of weights among 20 for both men and women. 

Among them, world youth champion Trinh Van Vinh will vie for a title in the U61kg. He will be joined by the world U56kg winner Thach Kim Tuan, who has moved up to the higher weight division for the first time.

Prize money will be awarded to the top eight of each class with the winner pocketing US$2,000.

The World Cup is one of six mandatory tournaments that athletes must take part in to collect points for Tokyo 2020 Olympics berths.

"We have been working hard to prepare for the championship and hope my players will earn highest points here," said coach Nguyen Manh Thang.
