Accordingly, on the section from Km274+111.86 to Km288+000, covering the Mai Son area to the northern side of the Tam Diep tunnel, the maximum permitted speed for all vehicles is 80km/h. This stretch runs through Yen Thang and Tam Diep wards in Ninh Binh Province.

On the section from Km288+000 in Tam Diep Ward to Km386+240 in Truong Lam Commune, Thanh Hoa Province, speed limits will be regulated by lane.

Lane one, adjacent to the median strip, is reserved for passenger cars, trucks under 3.5 tonnes and passenger vehicles with fewer than 29 seats. These vehicles are permitted to travel at a maximum speed of 90km/h.

Lane two is designated for sleeper buses and other remaining vehicles, with a maximum speed of 80km/h.

The reduction in maximum speed is attributed to the expressway running through mountainous terrain with frequent changes in topography and continuous steep gradients.

At the same time, the route was invested and constructed in phased scale, featuring four limited lanes, each 3.5m wide, without continuous emergency stopping lanes.

“Specialized agencies have conducted surveys and assessments and reached consensus on reducing the maximum speed along this route,” a representative of the Traffic Police Department said.
