CNN, BBC, CNET, The Verge… all have reported about the confirmation by Nguyen Ha Dong to put Flappy Bird back to Google Play and App Store.

ABC News’ reporter proved to feel very elated when writing that gamers should prepare their thumbs well to play Flappy Bird once it returns.

TechCrunch and International Business Times think that Ha Dong is working hard on Flappy Bird to improve the “hit” game which made debut in the first quarter of 2014.

Meanwhile, Mac Rumors affirmed that the new version of Flappy Bird would show the warning: “Please have a break”. This seems to be a reasonable guess, as Dong once said he pulled the Flappy Bird because it was an “addictive product.”

Nevertheless, while the international mass media show their excitement about the returning of the lovely bird, fans keep indifferent to the news.

There has been no feedback on BBC, ABC News, Metro, Time, TechRadar, Rocket-lint so far. Meanwhile, the news about the new fate of the bird on Youtube and 9gag could not attract any special attention.

The readers of IGN, a website with the focus on games, prove to be the only readers giving feedbacks to the news. However, most of them made the same comment that they don’t have interest in the affair.

Especially, some readers have replied by giving sarcastic remarks. Dong has been described as a “marketing genus” because he could catch the attention of the mass media for the mediocre information.

A reader of CNN recalled the funny film series South Park when showing his viewpoint about Flappy Bird. A portrait in an episode, Cartman, inherited $1 million and he bought an amusement park, but did not allow anyone to go in.

The reader, named “semisrs”, believes that Dong is following the same marketing strategy that Cartman followed. Flappy Bird is the most addictive app game on smart phone, but no one can play it! This allows to create strange, but not a respect worthy attraction to the game.

While readers have shown negative replies to the returning of the bird, analysts keep doubtful of the success of the new bird.

Games in Asia, for example, commented that though Flappy Bird’s returning would catch people’s attention, it may not make the great success as it did in the past. It is obvious that Flappy Bird would be upgraded, but it would have to compete with a lot of other games by the time it returns.

It is obvious that the path for Flappy Bird ahead is thorny. An expert commented that Flappy Bird, like any “viral” phenomenon, would cool down if it cannot show the long term attractiveness.

However, the expert said it is too early to say for sure about the failure of the Flappy Bird when it returns and that no need for Dong to feel worried about the future of the bird.

The fate of the game would still depend on many things, including the marketing and the “power” of the bird to be created by Dong.
