Director and screenwriter Diep, 30, shared the news with VietNamNet after her project was listed in the Fabrique des Cinemas du Monde category at the Cannes Film Festival 2012.

Diep will be in Cannes for ten days, from May 15, to introduce her first movie project as a director and producer.

She says that the film was initially invited to compete at the L'Atelier category (last year, Vietnamese movie – Bi, don’t be afraid – took part in this program) but she decided to join the Fabrique des Cinemas du Monde category because this category will benefit her project.

Fabrique des Cinemas du Monde is the program to assist movie directors in developing countries to produce their first or second projects.

This year ten young directors and producers are invited to join Fabrique des Cinemas du Monde. This is the first time directors from Paraguay, Rwanda, Madagascar, Burma and Iran participating in the program.

Previously, “Wings in the air” was introduced at the Ties That Bind, which is organized for film producers from Asia and Europe, who had potential projects at the Busan International Film Festival in Busan, South Korea last October.

Director Diep says that Vietnamese-origin singer in Australia, Thanh Duy and Miss Vietnam in Russia 2007 Truong Ho Phuong Nga will play in the movie.
