The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism named top 20 entries of a poster contest on the APEC Year 2017 at a ceremony held in Hanoi on November 3.
The first prize went to Do Trung Kien from Hanoi. Other awards presented at the event included two second, three third and 14 consolation prizes.
On the occasion, the Grassroots Culture Department published DVDs and a collection of four posters serving public promotion on the APEC Vietnam Year 2017.
The competition ran from December 30, 2016 to February 28, 2017, attracting 552 submissions nationwide.
Vietnam has been hosting a series of APEC meetings since the beginning of 2017. The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017, the most important event of the APEC Year 2017, will take place in Da Nang from November 6-11

APEC 2017: Photo exhibition features Vietnam land, people

A photo exhibition featuring the land and people of Vietnam is taking place at the International Media Centre in the central city of Da Nang as an activity to celebrate the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week.
Jointly organised by the APEC 2017 National Committee, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Da Nang People’s Committee, the exhibition displays 100 artistic photos introducing Vietnam’s beautiful landscapes, economic and tourism potential, and culture as well as the life of Vietnamese people.
The event is hoped to contribute to the common success of the APEC Vietnam Year 2017 while bringing the images of Vietnam’s land and people closer to international friends and opening up new investment opportunities for the country in various fields like economy, culture and tourism.
The APEC 2017 Economic Leaders’ Week, themed “Creating New Dymanism, Fostering A Shared Future” is scheduled for November 6-11 in Da Nang.
