The Organizing Board of the APEC Photo Contest 2017 has announced the ten photos that made the final round and will present awards during the APEC 2017 Leaders’ Week from November 6 to 11 in central Da Nang city.

Under the theme “Trade for All”, the photo contest was open to amateur and professional photographers from the 21 APEC member economies. It closed on September 29, with more than 2,600 photos submitted.

Photographer Truong Huu Hung, a member of the Organizing Board, said the contest was a great chance for photographers to challenge their creativity and also connect with reality.

Each year, APEC and its host economy select a specific set of priorities to focus on. In today’s digital age, APEC continues to pursue efforts to build prosperity for people in the Asia-Pacific region.

APEC’s theme for 2017 is to focus on creating new energy for economic growth and building an inclusive and integrated community in the Asia-Pacific.

He also said that as Vietnam hosts APEC this year, the number of Vietnamese photographers participating in the contest was more than those from other APEC members.

Among ten photographers with photos in the final round, three are Vietnamese: Tran Dinh Thuong from Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan province, Truong Vinh from Ho Chi Minh City, and Kieu Anh Dung from Bac Lieu province.

Held since 2011, the APEC Photo Contest seeks to raise awareness about APEC’s mission, achievements, and benefits.
