A concert titled “Winter Concert” celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music will be held on December 12.
Artists of the city’s music academy, the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, including Tenor Soloist Ta Minh Tam, Piano Soloist Nguyen Thuy Yen, Clarinet Soloist Nguyen Tuan Loc , South Korean soprano Cho Hae-ryong, Poland’s violoncello soloist Zdzislaw Lapinski and others will join the event.
They will perform masterpieces of famed composers, such as Giuseppe Verdi, Marek Stachowski, Mikhail Glinka, Moses Hogan, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart under the baton of conductor Tran Vuong Thach.
Poland’s violoncello soloist Zdzisław Łapiński graduated from the Cracow Music Academy. In 1977 he won the 1-st prize at the Polish Chamber Music Competition. 1978 he won the 3-rd prize at the International String Quartet Competition in Evian (France).
In the same year he won the 3-rd prize at the National Cello Competition in Poznań. In 1992 he founded Cello Ensemble „Cantabile” and held position of Artistic Director.
From 1997 he is also Artistic Director of Chamber Ensemble „Primo Allegro”. He is also Professor and Head of Cello Department in Academy of Music in Cracow.
