Heavy snow began falling on late Sunday morning in New York and it is expected to linger into Monday morning and possibly into the afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning for the New York City area on Sunday, with possible snow falls of 11-16 inches, and 40 - 60 mph wind gusts.
Meanwhile, electric service company Con Ed said it is preparing crews and extra personnel to respond quickly and efficiently in the event of any power outages.
