This bizarre story happened to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, 27, in Na Hang town, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province.

Hearing about the effect of IUD in family planning, Tuyen went to Na Hang District Hospital for an IUD. After having a coil put in, Tuyen suffered from bleeding and bellyache.

She was brought back to the hospital of Na Hang District for checking and then transferred to the Hospital of Tuyen Quang Province for an abdominal surgery to take out the IUD.

The father of the victim, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thai said: "On August 4, my daughter went to Na Hang district hospital for an IUD. After coming home, she complained of abdominal pain and bleeding phenomenon. Her husband thought that pain is normal after an IUD so he encouraged her to eat to recover her health. But two days later she still felt painful. Her face turned pale, so I told her to come back to the hospital for a check. We panicked when doctors said that the coil was located in the gut."

In the afternoon of August 12, the coil was taken out of Tuyen’s abdomen but she was still treated at the Hospital of Tuyen Quang province after losing a lot of blood.

The coil removed from Tuyen’s abdomen.
