Heavy rain continued through the match but the two teams played an attacking game from the start.

In the 23rd minute, Nguyet Nga opened the score for Ha Noi 2. In the 58th minute, Son La’s Thanh Lam levelled the score.

Son La’s hopes of earning a point were, however, reduced to dust in the 82nd minute when Van made the score 2-1 in favour of Ha Noi 2.

With this win, Ha Noi are sixth in the rankings with seven points. Son La rank seventh with only two points. Ha Noi 1 are in the lead with 26 points.

In the 11th round on September 1, Thai Nguyen meet Phong Phu Ha Nam and Son La face HCM City 1. On September 2, Ha Noi 2 play Viet Nam Coal and Mineral and Ha Noi 1 take on HCM City.
