VietNamNet Bridge – A folklift truck driver was found alive on July 23 five days after being trapped in a cold storage with room temperature dropping to minus 20 degrees Census in Dong Thap province.

Rescue workers found Mai Thanh Sang, 23, conscious in the freezing cold among loads of tra and basa fish.

He was immediately admitted to Thanh Binh hospital in Dong Thap province for emergency treatment.

After an hour, Sang began to recover, and he was then taken to the provincial general hospital.

At 17.00 on July19 loads of tra and basa fish suddenly fell down on a group of workers working in a cold storage of Van Y JSC at Binh Thanh industrial park, in Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province.

Some managed to escape the incident, except for two workers.  

Local police was mobilised to support the rescue work together with around 200 workers of the company.

Several hours later, Tieu Van Tup, one of the two trapped workers, was recovered from piles of goods.  He was admitted to Thanh Binh district hospital and luckily survived the incident.

The other worker was discovered at midnight on July 23.
