VietNamNet Bridge – Fifty nine entries of “World heritages in your hands” art contest by UNESCO Office in Hanoi and Panasonic Vietnam will enter the final round which will be announced in June.
An entry which has reached the final of ‘World heritages in your hands’ contest.
The event, held to mark the Heritage Day (Nov. 23) and the World Heritage Convention’s 40th anniversary (1972-2012), is open to participants aged 18 or under nationwide and to honor the preserve of world heritages at localities in Vietnam.
The theme focuses on seven world heritages in Vietnam: Thang Long Royal Citadel, Ho Citadel, Hue Royal Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Relics, Halong Bay and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.
The contest drew 1,000 entries, most of which are about Hoi An ancient town in Quang Nam Province.
The judging panel consists of scholars from the Museum of Fine Arts, Hanoi University of Fine Arts, the Department of Cultural Heritage and UNESCO and Panasonic Vietnam.
The organizers will grant prizes for the best contestants of three groups: 5-10 years old, 11-15 years old and 16-18 years old. The best ten prizes will receive certificates and gifts.
The ceremony will take place in Hoi An in the framework of Quang Nam’s heritage festival in mid June.
According to the organizers, this year’s contest has high quality entries and they reflect participants’ creativity in ideas and materials.
