World media giants reached multiple agreements on a set of specified topics at the World Media Summit (WMS) Presidium Meeting held on Tuesday in Beijing.

Li Congjun, Executive President of the WMS and President of Xinhua News Agency, announced at a press conference after the meeting that agreements had been made concerning the meeting's specified topics, which included IPR protection, on-the-job safety for reporters, cooperation in the era of "new media" and the media's role in natural disasters.

The members of the Presidium Meeting also agreed that the next WMS will be hosted by ITAR-TASS in Moscow next year.
