VietNamNet Bridge – Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, world shuttlecock champion, died at the age of 33 in Hanoi on Sunday due to breast cancer.

Born in 1985 in Hanoi, Trang started playing when she was 14 years old, and quickly became key player for the national team. She won two gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 2003 and two gold medals at the World Shuttlecock Championships in 2005 and 2007, as well as many titles at domestic events.
Trang was considered the beauty queen of her sport in Vietnam.
In 2007, Trang retired from competition to get married. Five years later, she returned to play for Da Nang but retired due to her illness.
