Vietnam welcomes the UK’s active role in the reform of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), particularly in supporting the restoration of the dispute settlement system and promoting multilateral initiatives, a Vietnamese diplomat has said.

Vietnam’s participation in the MPIA sends a strong message of commitment to a rules-based multilateral trading system.

Vietnam officially deposited its instrument of ratification of the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies at the WTO General Council’s special session in Switzerland on September 15.

Vietnam has approved its participation in the Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement-a flexible mechanism designed to maintain and promote the WTO’s dispute settlement function amidst complex negotiations over dispute settlement reform.​
