VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese athletes arrived home on Tuesday with a basket of four gold medals from the third World Taijiquan Championships in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Among the winners, Pham Ngoc Kien notched a double victory. He won the men’s third set taijiquan C-B and the third set taijijian C-B categories. 

Nguyen Le Chi (women’s 42 movements taijijian C-A) and Nguyen Trong Lam (men’s 42 movements taijiquan C-A) won one gold each.

Veteran Tran Thi Minh Huyen grabbed a silver in her first international competition after years of rest for injuries.

Sea Games medal holders Tran Thi Khanh Ly and Pham Nguyen Hoai Nam bagged two bronze medals each.

With four golds, three silvers and six bronzes, Vietnam ranked fifth in the overall medal tally. China placed on top with its 12 golds. Hong Kong and Malaysia were second and third, and the US fourth ahead of Vietnam.
