Quoc Khanh, 33, and Uyen Nhu, 31, met at their workplace and began a relationship after two months of dating.
Besides their business, Uyen Nhu and Quoc Khanh work at an animal rescue center. As animal lovers, the two always support each other. Currently, they are taking care of more than 450 cats and dogs. Khanh and Nhu consider them as pets and family.
"By the seventh year, we were thinking about getting married. But because at that time some 'children' (pets) had become seriously ill, we spent all our money on treating them. After 12 years together, the wedding was finally held," Khanh said.
Although a little heartbroken, Quoc Khanh understood Nhu and complied with her wishes.
During the period that the couple were taking care of more than 450 pets, Quoc Khanh decided not to have children because he knew his wife was under a lot of pressure. He talked to his parents and got their support. Uyen Nhu also agreed with her husband's decision.
Uyen Nhu did not mind the difficulties and even endured the pain of being bitten by a dog or a cat. The most severe injury Uyen Nhu required 36 stitches. Even so, she persisted with her work with love and passion.
Choosing a life without children, Uyen Nhu and Quoc Khanh also have worries for the future. But the couple has put aside what lies ahead and hope that they can live happily forever as they are doing now.
