VietNamNet Bridge – Around 120 male and female fencers from 6 cities and provinces are competing at the 3rd National Junior Fencing Championships in the northern province of Hai Duong from August 19-28. 

Divided into two different age groups of U20 and U17 they are engaged in the men’s and women’s foil, epee and sabre events.

On August 20, Nguyen Duc Den from Ho Chi Minh City topped the men’s epee event for the junior group. Nguyen Duc Tai from Hai Duong came second and Dinh Duc Anh from Haiphong and Vu Bao Ngoc from Hai Duong third.

Meanwhile, in the mens’s sabre event, the gold medal went to To Duc Anh from Bac Ninh, the silver to Vu Van Hung from Haiphong and the bronze were shared by Le Trung Son from Hanoi and Ngo Xuan Thanh from Bac Ninh.

In the women’s foil event, Hanoi’s Do Thi Anh, Quach Thi Xuat and Duong Thi Hong Hanh were placed first, second and third, respectively. Another third place went to To Thi Huyen from Hai Phong.

Earlier, three gold medals also went to Hanoi’s Nguyen Quoc Oai in the men’s foil, Nguyen Minh Thuy in the women’s epee and Bui Thi Thu Ha in the women’s sabre.
