VietNamNet BridgeAbout 150 young Viet kieu (overseas Vietnamese) from 30 nations and territories will join Summer Camp 2011 from July 7 to 24 in Ha Noi.

The annual camp is organised by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.

Nguyen Thanh Son, deputy foreign minister and the committee's chairman, said at a press conference in Ha Noi yesterday, June 28, that the camp offered young overseas Vietnamese the chance to learn about their home country's history, culture and goals for the future.

Camp participants will be welcomed by the Party and State leaders before visiting historical and cultural sites in Ha Noi. They will also meet Heroic Mothers whose children died during the American War.

This year's event is themed "Following Ly Tu Trong," the young revolutionary activist born to a Viet kieu family in Thailand in 1914. He was arrested and executed by the enemy when he was 17.
